Whether you are a producer seeking information on the latest equipment, a retailer of olive oil related products, or an olive oil lover, our goal is to have “Everything but the Olive” available for you. The Olive Oil Source website was originally developed to provide information about olive oil. Adding products for sale, and eventually an on-line store came as a natural development as visitors asked us to help them find various items.
We are in the unique position of having personal experience with growing olives and maintaining an organic orchard, making olive oil, packaging and marketing it, and running a business. This allows us to provide our customers with products and information based on actual field experience. We pride ourselves on trying to help our customers be as successful as they can be rather than just sell them something. We strive to give them the best possible advice whether they want to buy a gift for a friend, find original wedding or party favors, buy equipment for their orchard or buy a complete line of commercial milling equipment. WHO WE ARE
|Shawn Addison, President Shawn graduated from Stanford University with an M.A. from the Food Research Institute. He owned a landscape and a construction company and has extensive management experience. After he and his wife, Antoinette, inherited an olive orchard in Provence and got acquainted with olives, they decided to plant an olive orchard and start a milling business in the Santa Ynez Valley. They bought The Olive Oil Source in 2008. Shawn was a member of the Board of Directors of the California Olive Oil Council from 2005 to 2007. He currently serves on The Grades and Labeling Standards Committee for the C.D.F.A.'s Olive Oil Commission of California.|
|Antoinette Addison, VP Business Operations Antoinette received an M.S. in Agricultural Sciences from the prestigious Ecole Nationale d'Agronomie in France where she was top of her class. She then received an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the Food Research Institute at Stanford University. After more than 15 years as a budget director for Stanford University, it was time to return to her first interests, agriculture and food, with Figueroa Farms and The Olive Oil Source which she runs with her husband, Shawn.|
|Mary Dautricourt, Internet Manager With many years' experience as IT project lead, documentation writer and trainer at Stanford University, Mary led the construction of The Olive Oil Source's great web sites and manages their ongoing development.|
|Brian Gloria, General Manager After receiving a BA in both Communications and Religious Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara, Brian went on to manage one of Santa Barbara’s leading catering programs specializing in school lunches K-12. Following his passion for food, he continued his career running a gourmet speciality food business with a focus on California olive oil and vinegar. With an extensive background in team management and the specialty food industry, Brian seeks to provide an extraordinary customer service experience. Brian hopes to combine his knowledge of the business with his drive to build lasting relationships in hopes to bring a new perspective to the Olive Oil Source.|
|Brenda C. Martin, Assistant Manager Brenda is a native of the California central coast. The majority of her work experience is in the Administrative field. She has enjoyed learning about the olive oil industry and all it has to offer. Brenda strives to make yours a pleasant experience when dealing with The Olive Oil Source.|
Lisa and John Deane created The Olive Oil Source in 1998. Under their guidance, it became the primary supplier of information, equipment, and support products for the rapidly growing California Olive Oil industry. In April 2008, the Deanes sold their business to Shawn and Antoinette Addison. The Addisons first became involved in the olive oil industry when they inherited an olive orchard in the South of France from Antoinette’s father. In 2002, they created Figueroa Farms in the Santa Ynez Valley and immediately made their presence known in the industry. They planted thousands of trees on their property, which they farm organically and power with a photovoltaic system, and managed some neighboring farms as well. In 2003, they purchased a state-of-the-art Pieralisi olive mill through the Olive Oil Source. Since then, they have milled many domestic and international award-winning olive oils for Figueroa Farms and other producers. Figueroa Farms has become one of the most successful gourmet oil producers in California; their line of oils can be found in most gourmet grocery store chains and independent grocery stores. They have developed an outstanding reputation due to the quality of their products, their customer service, and their business ethics. Figueroa Farms is an enthusiastic member of the California Olive Oil Council for which Shawn was a member of the Board of Directors from 2005 to 2007. Shawn and Antoinette saw the acquisition of the Olive Oil Source as a unique opportunity to further their goal of playing a major role in developing the California olive oil industry. As a result of owning and managing Figueroa Farms, they had gained valuable experience at every step of the olive oil making process from farming to marketing. The purchase of the Olive Oil Source seemed like the perfect thing for them to do. They felt that The Olive Oil Source clients will be able to benefit from their experience as olive growers and millers.
