The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development convenes for the Cata-Contest Extra Virgin Olive Oil of olive oils from Extremadura, a contest that aims to foster progress toward quality, recognize the effort and commitment of the sector Extremadura olive oils to improve the region and raise awareness of consumer sensory attributes and qualities of this product. All oils are produced, processed and packaged in Extremadura with olives that have been collected in this campaign. The competition also puts the emphasis on the importance of olive cultivation in the region, which is the largest area of our Region Cup, third nationally in production of olive oil and cornerstone for the development of rural areas . The competition is aimed at all developers of extra virgin olive oil, which has been produced, processed and packaged in the region, which may choose either the form of extra virgin olive oil olive production from conventional or produced organically. In the latter case, participants will have to certify that they are enrolled this year in CRAEX. |
