Almazara Familia Longo
We are a small Uruguayan family business and produce award-winning extra virgin olive oils. We combine the time-honored methods of first cold extraction with the resources of state-of-the-art technologies. The terroir defined by the unique combination of the fertile soils and climate of the Rio de la Plata estuary and our dedicated care results in the exceptional purity and quality of our oils and enhances their harmonious scents and tastes. |

Our family bought a small farm with an olive grove near Carmelo, Colonia, Uruguay, in 2009. At that time some of us, who had emigrated to North America, came back in search of our roots. We built the mill in 2011. While the example of our parents and grandparents serves as our inspiration, it is the promise held by our children walking beside us that drives us. Thus, four generations are intertwined to make our dreams come true. From our elders we learned that quality is not an accident, but the result of hard work and focusing on excellence. Our children drive us to combine the time-honored methods of first cold extraction by mechanical means only, with the resources that state-of-the-art technologies put at our service. We are unconditionally committed to promoting sustainable development that is respectful of our environment. The unique combination of the fertile soils and climate of the Rio de la Plata estuary and our dedicated care results in the exceptional purity and quality of our oils and enhances their harmonious scents and tastes. The olive grove is a perfect metaphor for our dreams: health, permanence, prosperity and peace. |

We have 15000 olive trees, with an average age of 5 years and of four different varieties: Coratina, Picual, Manzanilla and Arbequina. |

We produce olive oil | ||
We have an Alfa Oliver 500 mill and extract the olive oil from our own fruits. The mill is at the farm so the fruit is processed very shortly after it is harvested and never waits more than 12 hours for extraction. We use only mechanical means for the process and keep the temperature below 26ÂșC. |
