Kastania Olive Oil

We are a small family business that takes pride in sharing our organic extra virgin olive oil with our family and friends across the world. Our olives are grown in several remote mountain groves near our family village of Kastania in the province of Lakonia in southern Greece. In 2018 we won a gold medal at the New York International Olive Oil Competition. We are a climate positive company and offset all of our yearly carbon emissions.

We are a small family business that takes pride in sharing our award-winning olive oil with our family and friends across the world. Our olives are grown in several remote mountain groves near our family village (or χωριό, “horio”) of Kastania, in the province of Lakonia in southern Greece. Kastania is located high up in the Taygetos mountains in the region called the Mani, famous for its outstanding olive oil. Our harvest runs each winter from November to February. Our olives are completely harvested by hand, using the same methods our ancestors have used since the days of ancient Sparta. Our oil is extracted at cold temperatures, which reduces the quantity of oil we produce but leaves our oil with a richer flavor profile and higher nutritional content. Lab tests show that our oil is brimming with oleocanthals, a natural antioxidant with a wide range of proven health benefits, including reducing arthritis and preventing Alzheimer’s disease. Our oil is extra virgin and certified organic by the USDA. In 2018 we won a gold medal at the New York International Olive Oil Competition. We were one of only ten organic olive oils from Greece to get this distinction. We are a climate positive company and offset all of our yearly carbon emissions. We do so by supporting a reforestation project in Africa that removes enough carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year to more than offset our annual emissions through oil production and transportation.
