I am in Australia, and have been given a 1 lit bottle of olive oil, but unfortunately it is very rancid and I cannot use it for cooking. I there any way I can filter this oil so it becomes usable?
Olive oil must be chemically refined to correct rancidity. It is not a matter of filtering. Throw it away and buy yourself a nice fresh bottle of Australian grown olive oil. It is only good for a year or so; be generous with it in your cooking, use it up and buy some more.
