This popular festival, held every two years, is a celebration of the olive, a fruit of Mediterranean origin, whose oil is now a common sight on dining tables throughout Australia. The Festival of the Olive is held at historic Elizabeth Farm, where Australia’s oldest surviving olive tree was planted for John Macarthur in 1805. The tree continues to produce fruit today.
