The estate grown olive varieties we selected for our Frate Sole Extra Virgin Olive Oil are predominantly Tuscan varieties –- Frantoio, Leccino and Pendolino. Our other plantings are also Italians --Taggiasca from Liguria and Coratina from Puglia -- as well as some olives of Spanish and French origin, including Arbequina, Boutellian, Aglandau and Grossane. The fruit is hand-picked and cold-processed.

Grumpy Goats Farm produces extra virgin olive oil on a 20 acre farm at the mouth of Capay Valley in Yolo County. The inaugural harvest of Coratina oil in 2010 was certified extra virgin by COOC and awarded three gold medals in 2011 California competitions. In 2011 Picual and Pendolino oils were added to the harvest.
