August Pressing Matters

August 01, 2010

With the extreme heat of the summer at its height this month, there are three things you should do to protect your crop and your oil:

  • Double check your irrigation to make sure newly-formed olives are getting sufficient hydration.

  • Continue pest management practices to discourage olive fly infestation. In the heat of late summer and early fall, it is more important than ever to apply GF120 on the shady side of the tree.

  • Olive oil quality can diminish quickly from over exposure to heat. Make sure your bulk storage stays cool.
